Quebec Provincial Police. They’re experts in kettling and cracking heads during riots. French is their official language they’re from just across the river. They behaved and were well restrained.

Going for Coffee Is Now a Crime in Ottawa; Police May Attack and Threaten You
By Nick Arama | Feb 20, 2022 5:15 PM ET

One of the things that has been ironic about the police action against the Freedom Convoy in the city of Ottawa has been that the government’s complaint that people were blocked from going about their daily business in the city. While areas of the city might have taken longer to get through and there was a lot of honking, no one was blocked from going anywhere.

That is, until now. The city has installed checkpoints and fences, just like a police state, to prevent people from peacefully protesting. They also shut down what had been the “hottest club” in the city — the protester dance party area right in front of Parliament. Even the CTV media bemoaned that.

    https://twitter.com/Gray_Mackenzie/...wa-police-may-attack-and-threaten-you-n525362

Instead, now you have police everywhere.

    https://twitter.com/EMauroCBC/statu...wa-police-may-attack-and-threaten-you-n525362

Not to mention, going for coffee now is not allowed and is a crime. This is crazy. They wouldn’t let this woman go for coffee because she says she’s from Alberta.

    https://twitter.com/corrcomm/status...wa-police-may-attack-and-threaten-you-n525362

They have no idea who she is. She isn’t doing anything illegal. Yet, they hit her camera so she doesn’t film them and threaten her. Last I checked, going for coffee is not illegal, or at least it isn’t except in Canada. Because the government has declared the area a “red zone,” that seems to mean you have no civil rights and they can act like thugs. She records them, as well she should, given the behaviors we’ve seen — and they hit her camera and threaten her because she dares to do so. Filming is illegal now, too, in Ottawa.
This is getting completely out of hand. People need to call Justin Trudeau on the carpet over this on Monday when they have the vote on the Emergencies Act. This is not justifiable to treat people this way. It’s become a full-on police state now.

Congratulations, Justin Trudeau! How do you think businesses will like having no customers now either, because of your actions? That, and the deprivation of civil liberties should go over well, and I’m sure the residents are all going to love this.

Despite the fences, it should be noted that protesters were still assembling in the city, so they might not get to right in front of Parliament. But you can’t kill an idea or people with the strong will for freedom.

    1. BigSuzyB
It’s been totally illegal inside the red zone for two days. She should have been arrested.
Her and her idiotic friends from Alberta made sure businesses have been closed for more than three weeks.

BLMers, Destroyed Police cars, burned down businesses, broke into and looted others, even burned down a police station. they broke into gated neighborhoods, shot cops, and caused the biggest insurance payout in history ! Your Canadian truckers destroyed nothing ! They only aggravated the very people who aggravated their own situation!

When BLM came to Ottawa Justin went out to meet with them. He took a knee with them for eight minutes.
He had to because of the whole face painting thing.
The people in Ottawa are the same people that lived there when the Conservatives were in power for eleven years before Trudeau and when Justin is gone in a few years they will still be there.
Should the city become a non stop occupation of some sort or another? No need for democracy, just come to the capital and stamp your feet till you get your way.

Again it will be interesting to see how Canadian Jurisprudence see's treating Canadian citizens by seizing bank accounts and licenses and trucks for conducting a peaceful protest against a Govt mandate! The Canadian citizens better pay attention too, lest they see more of their rights eroded by a wannabe dictator!
If I were a Canadian Judge, I would throw all the charges out!

The truckers waited too long and they also picked the wrong time of year . They would’ve had more support from regular people if it would’ve been warmer out . It’s hard to protest went below zero

The truckers were heard loud and clear. The answer was notable in its silence.

There are clips of Canadian officials calling the protesters white nationalists, Trump supporters, and insurrectionists. This is the kind of purposefully divisive talk we get here. When I hear Canadians saying this, I know there is coordination between our two governments to put this protest down.

So I repeat my question -- Since when is Canadian government officials calling peaceful protesters "insurrectionist, white supremacists, and Trump supporters" considered the kind coordinating border policy that has taken place since the mid-1800's?

Haven't see anyone but stumbler suggesting that the protest is somehow connected to Trump, white supremacists, or insurrectionists.
It doesn't have to be the governments coordinating this. Soros has a much better network of slaves and minions to carry his message and this protest is right up his alley. Anything to destabilize societies, eh?

At the very most all the protesters accomplished was to have some Conservative Provincial governments begin to ease mandates a week earlier than planned. The staunchly Conservative Premier of Ontario told the truckers to get off of the border crossings and to get out of the city of Ottawa. That was his duty. Why Joe Biden doesn’t want un-vaccinated truckers traveling back and forth across the border anymore is a question I don’t have the answer to but even if Justin was to capitulate it wouldn’t make a bit of difference.

Importantly, not all provinces and territories currently have mandatory vaccine passports in effect. For example, Alberta’s Restriction Exemption Program (REP), was an opt-in proof of vaccination that allowed businesses to operate with fewer restrictions in exchange for participation. The REP was scrapped altogether on Feb. 9. Voluntary proof-of- vaccination programs also exist in the Northwest Territories, while Nunavut does not have a vaccine passport in place at all. British Columbia, the Yukon, the Northwest Territories, and the Atlantic provinces have not yet announced a calendar to remove the vaccine passport, something that Saskatchewan (Feb. 14), Ontario (March 1), Manitoba (March 1) and Quebec (March 14) all have done.

Crackdown Sparks Even More Massive Protests Across Canada, Crisis for Trudeau
By Nick Arama | Feb 20, 2022 9:30 AM ET

The protesters in Ottawa are hoping to make it through the weekend until the Senate convenes. They want to make it to Monday because the Emergencies Act has to be approved by the Parliament within seven days of it being called for, which was on February 14. So it has to be approved by tomorrow. They are hoping that the legislators will not approve it, the police will back off, and the Parliament will address their concerns.

There were still hundreds of protesters out Saturday in Ottawa, more even than there were earlier when there was a lot of police action against them. And some of them may even be the people who were “arrested” earlier.

    https://twitter.com/TheMarieOakes/s...ests-across-canada-crisis-for-trudeau-n525046

    https://twitter.com/TheMarieOakes/s...ests-across-canada-crisis-for-trudeau-n525046

100 people were arrested on Friday and 70 on Saturday, according to the police, so they could finally claim to officials that they were taking action. And, of course, they were very aggressive, beating up some people and reporters in the process and even running over an older woman on a disability scooter with their horses. You can see this in a closer video of one protester they were hitting with a rifle butt.

    https://twitter.com/CandiceMalcolm/...ests-across-canada-crisis-for-trudeau-n525046

But there was something a little funny about those “arrests.” Many of the people arrested claimed that they were driven several blocks or a couple of miles away and then just released. They were not issued citations or formally charged with anything.

So these aren’t “arrests” where anyone is being charged — just moving people away from the area. Thus, it appears to be an effort to look like they are “doing something” or “restoring order.” Most of the people said that they were released a distance away. Some were asked to say they wouldn’t return to the protest. They didn’t comply and returned anyway. Nobody was charged with anything, there was no processing, not even a desk appearance ticket.

But as we said, not only are there more people out in Ottawa, they are growing in other cities in Canada including Quebec, Calgary, and Surrey.

Now, some legislators have said they will not be voting for the Emergencies Act on Monday, including the Conservatives and some from Quebec.

The question is if they have enough to shut it down. Civil liberties organizations are also encouraging the Act be voted down.

The premier from Alberta, Jason Kenney, has said that he will challenge it in court because it was unnecessary, disproportionate, violates natural justice, intrudes into provincial jurisdiction, and creates a dangerous precedent.

The blockades which Trudeau claimed as an excuse, ended peacefully without the use of the Act. Meanwhile, the government has moved on to seizing all kinds of power including conscription of tow truck drivers and seizing bank accounts of people for the “crime” of political opinion. As we noted earlier, the police chief even said they would continue to hunt the protesters — and their finances- down, even after the protests. Trudeau made it clear that part of this — from the very beginning — was because they had “unacceptable views” and that he was cool with kneeling with BLM protesters — just not these guys about whom he has lied so much.

We shall have to see what the morrow may bring when it comes to the vote. It should by rights go down. But the effort to go after protesters by the government — rather than talk and listen — has sparked something not only in Canada but in the U.S. and around the world against tyranny. And that isn’t going down any time soon, no matter what happens with the vote.

It's is just this fucking simple...

    a) the people have issue with some government policies, the people decide it's time to air the grievances...(peacefully)

    b) the government makes a conscious decision not hear it...(runs away and hides)

    c) the people will demand to be heard...(wont leave)

    d) the government soon decides to over power the people...(forces folks to leave or be held liable for the actions not to leave)

    e) Chaos ensues..(pretty much a what the fuck just happened issue)

The protesters have bugged out of Ottawa. It’s the Family Day long weekend in Ottawa. It’s one of the busiest tourist times of the year. Ice skating on the Rideau canal. The sweet smell beaver tails in the air. A winter carnival atmosphere.
Pay your respects at our nations monuments.Pose with Terry Fox. Soak up some history and take pride in your nation. We won Olympic gold for hockey this week.No Canadian has ever seen a ten foot security fence around the parliament buildings since they were built on that hill in 1859. The eternal flame out of reach.

Right-wing Michigan 'convoy' fizzles as few show up to protest election results and COVID-19 mandates

A right-wing protest against COVID-19 mandates and supporting election fraud conspiracies at the Michigan Capitol building off the blockades at the border that shut down the Ambassador Bridge for a week has failed to gain traction for the last week.

    Around 10 people showed up
to the Capitol building Sunday afternoon for what was billed as the “Lansing Freedom Convoy.” The group has called on “all our good men” to park their cars in downtown Lansing and demand “honest elections,” “a voter-run audit and canvass” and for police to “arrest and charge all criminals in government, media and medicine.”

There currently are few COVID-19 protocols in Michigan, with no statewide mask mandates since June 2021 and every county lifting its requirement.

The group has also been hosting daily “slow rolls” around the Capitol building last week, but these daily events also only had a small number of participants.

Earlier this month, another right-wing rally questioning the results of the 2020 general election had a smaller than anticipated crowd. Organizers for that rally called on thousands of people to flood the building and demand a “forensic audit” of the election, which didn’t happen.

Despite the fact that President Joe Biden defeated former President Donald Trump by more than 154,000 votes in Michigan, many GOP activists and officials have been pushing election fraud conspiracies for over a year.

The “freedom convoy” in Lansing is allied with protesters who shut down the Ambassador Bridge and other border crossings earlier this month. That protest, which started with truckers blasting horns in Ottawa, opposed a Canadian vaccine mandate requiring drivers entering Canada to be fully vaccinated or they face a testing and quarantine requirement.

According to a report from the Anderson Economic Group, the protest at the Ambassador Bridge cost the auto industry about $300 million, including $145 million in lost direct wages and $155 million in losses to automakers, including General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Honda and Toyota.

That protest was backed by 30 GOP state lawmakers and several Republican gubernatorial candidates, including former Detroit Police Chief James Craig and chiropractor Garrett Soldano.

Another convoy is being organized across the U.S. with the intention of disrupting Biden’s State of the Union address on March 1 in Washington, D.C.
